How Herbs Differ From Shrubs
Herbs are plants that are smaller than shrubs. They have a single stem with delicate and this tissue. These stems have no branches and
called the rootstock. Some of the examples are rice, wheat, onion, grass, etc.
Herbs are small plants with a green and tender stem. Herbs contain an adequate
and essential amount of nutritional benefits including vitamins and minerals.
How Shrubs Differ From Herbs
Shrubs are taller and grow in meters. Having multiple
branches and strong and wood tissue. Shrubs have a thick and hard stem. They are referred to as woody plants. Some of
the examples are orange, rose, peach, lavender, etc. Shrubs have a hard,
flexible, and strong root system. Hibiscus, jasmine lemon, and rose are some of
the common shrubs around us.
Today we will explore some of the plants that are present
around us:-
1-Importance Of Mint
Mint leaves refer to spearmint leaves. Mint also includes
many other aromatic herbs, including most of the more common cooking herbs,
such as basil, rosemary, sage, oregano, and catnip which are also important for
us. Mentha is a biological name of the mint and easily found around you. Green
beautiful leaves with green colors that easily attracts you with its smell. Its
heart touching smell is a sign of fresh and healthy surroundings. Mint flavor is
preferred most because it also acts as a mouth freshener.
By putting 2 or 3
leaves in the mouth automatically clean your mouth and keep you fresh by killing
bacteria inside your mouth. It is a healthy medicinal plant which not only
considered as a medicine but by some of the dishes and drinks are incomplete
without mint. Mint drinks are also considered as a fresh drink. In summer
grinding mint and in Hindi we can call it as “Pudina” and “Pudina Chatni” is
also famous in summer with food. You can replace this “Pudina Chatni” with
pickle which keeps you healthy and fresh by boosting digestion.
2-Importance Of Tulsi or Basil
One of the unique shrub which not only a plant but acts as a
symbol of purity with pure green leaves. Tulsi or Basil has hairy stems,
opposite ovate leaves, and purple flowers. Ocimum tenuiflorum is a biological
name and an aromatic perennial plant in the family Lamiaceae. By putting a Tulsi
plant in your garden keeps you not only fresh but helpful in detecting negative
energy from your life. You can also put tulsi in your tea which makes tea more
delicious and healthy. Putting Tulsi leaves in food makes it healthy by killing
unwanted bacteria. Some of the region's worship of Tulsi is done.
There are four types of tulsi found in nature:-
1. Rama Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum)
2. Krishna Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)
3. Amrita Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)
4. Vana Tulsi (Ocimum gratis sum)
3- Importance Of Curry Leaves
Beautiful and healthy
leaves which make our environment fresh and green by its beauty. Aromatic
leaves which are also known as Curry Patta having copper, calcium, phosphorus
