Union Aviation Ministry of India now allows up to 60% of domestic passenger flights in Coronavirus pandemic.

The Center government on Wednesday allowed Indian airlines to increase the number of domestic passenger flights by 60 percent, according to an official order. On 26 June, the Ministry of Civil Aviation was permitted to operate a maximum of 45 percent of its pre-COVID domestic flights.

 In its previous order dated 26 June, the ministry placed a limit of 45 percent on the number of domestic flights. Revising now, the government on Wednesday issued an order in which the capacity has been increased from 45 percent to 60 percent.

 60% of Domestic Passenger Flights Allowed Now


The ministry resumed passenger services from May 25 due to a coronavirus-triggered lockdown. In operations commenced after a gap of two months, airlines were not allowed to operate more than 33 percent of their pre-COVID domestic flights. The average occupancy rate for domestic flights during this period has been only 50-60 percent.

Scheduled international passenger flights to the country have been suspended since March 23 due to the Coronavirus epidemic. However, special international flights have been operating under the Vanda Bharat Mission since May. Bilateral air bubble packs are being signed with various countries to start special air services from July.

The Union Health Ministry has confirmed 78,357 new corona patients reported in one day on Wednesday. With the death of COVID 19 to 1,045 people in 24 hours, the total number of deaths has increased to 66,333 in the country. By the time the latest information is received, the number of corona patients in India has increased to 38,30,103, currently there are 8,10,299 corona active patients in the country. According to the latest update, the number of people who died is now 67,184.

So far, 26,048,828 people have been infected corona throughout the world. However, 18,294,642 patients have been cured so far. So far, 863,679 patients have lost their lives in the world.
