New Technology Of Corona Testing Claimed

Researchers at IIT Kharagpur claimed to have developed a novel technology for the rapid test of Corona on Saturday. The cost of testing the Corona through this ultra-low-cost portable device will come to just Rs 400. The test report from the device will be found within just 1 hour through the smartphone application.

No special lab needed

This ultra-low-cost portable device can be used anywhere, the news agency quoted IIT Kharagpur as saying. It does not require any special lab to test swab samples. A large number of tests can be done from this device.

The average cost of RT-PCR testing in India

The RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) test (commonly known as the swab test for testing coronavirus) is a sensitive test. The swab sample is taken from a person's nose or throat. So far its average cost is around Rs 2,200 to 3,000. This is why the indigenous testing kit will prove to be a game-changer in the fight against Corona.

After every test, the paper cartridge installed in the device will have to be replaced. The result of the investigation done from the device will be found on the mobile app. Researchers claimed that this device has 100% met the standards of RT-PCR and it has given the right results every time.

Possible to check other viruses

IIT Kharagpur Assistant Professor Arindam Mondal said that this portable device was not only designed to test the corona, but it can also detect other RNA viruses. He said that the importance of this testing device increases further in view of an epidemic like a corona. This will help us prepare for the future.

This device is designed according to this so that it can be used even in a place with fewer resources. This device is ready to enter the market. It will be brought to the market after completing processes such as licensing and production with corporate or start-ups.

Good news has come in the midst of the increased infection of the corona. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has developed an inexpensive testing kit to test the coronavirus. This testing kit is named Corrosure. According to reports, CorShore is claimed to be the world's cheapest Corona testing kit. On Wednesday, it was launched by Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Minister of State Sanjay Dhotre.

Approval from ICMR and DCGI

The kit developed by IIT Delhi has received approval from the India Council for Medical Research (ICMR) and the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). The testing kit will be used as an alternative to the coronavirus test. It can launch Newtech Medical Devices.

Cheapest Corona Testing Kit

The probe-free RT-PCR based Covid-19 testing kit has been developed by the researchers at Kusuma School of Biological Science, IIT Delhi. The price was fixed by the researchers at Rs 500. But Jatin Goyal, managing director of Corosure fixed its final cost at Rs 650.

IIT Delhi Director V. Ram Gopal Rao said that this kit will set an example in the field of corona investigation in both cost and scale cases in the country.
