Airplane crash in Karachi, Pakistan, 98 people feared dead

A crashed plane near Karachi Airport fell into the  model colony's residential area. It took many houses and shops in its fold. When the locals heard the noise and saw the smell of smoke, they had come to know how terrible the accident was.

Flights in Pakistan were closed for a long time due to the Corona virus lockdown. Domestic flights were resumed from last Saturday. People were also very excited to go home due to Eid. While in the model colony areas near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, the sound of planes always passing above was not new to the people, but on Friday, there was a sudden sight that the one who saw it came in the way. In the same street of the colony, Pakistan International Airlines plane A-320 crashed in which at least 90 people were on board besides the crew.

Model Town area is a few kilometers from Jinnah Airport in Karachi. On Friday afternoon people were busy with their daily work and there was movement in the street as well. At around 2:45 pm there was a terrible sound. People standing on the streets were speechless and those who were imprisoned in the houses came out and saw the sight that everyone was shocked. A sky of smoke and dust rising from the debris. In a short time, people understood what a big accident it was and people around it had fallen prey to it.

A video taken after the incident showed people running in disgrace in the model colony area just after the crash. The voice of a woman is also heard in the video, which shows how much fear was there among the people there. The aircraft had hit their nearby homes and had taken at least 4-5 homes, shops and vehicles. There are reports of at least 90 people in the aircraft and about 8 crew members. However, it has been feared that the loss of life may be more than this, as many people have also fallen prey to it.

China Aircraft Connection

The aircraft coming from Lahore to Karachi crashed shortly before landing. There is no official confirmation of the cause of the crash, but it is being speculated that the plane crashed due to a landing gear malfunction. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Geo News has also claimed that the aircraft was leased from China.
