New York City, which became the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, is now fully open. Governor Andrew Cuomo reported that New York City will begin reopening on June 8 in a phased manner. About 4,000,000 employees will be brought back to work.
New York City has been closed since mid-March as the coronavirus devastated the metropolis, with so far more than 202,038 coronavirus cases reported and 16,410 deaths. The US has reported more than 1,793,530 COVID-19 cases and 104,542 deaths so far. Both numbers are the highest in the world.
Inaugurations began again this month in areas across New York State, but New York City remained closed because the necessary health-related criteria here had not been met. New York Governor Cuomo, addressing a press conference on Friday, said the city is on track to complete all the Matrix and will enter phase one of the reopening on 8 June.
According to the Worldometer, the number of people killed by this virus in the world has increased to more than 367,230 and the number of infected has exceeded 6,049,099, while more than 2,673,186 people have beaten the corona. At the same time, more than one lakh four thousand people have died and more than 17 lakh 93 thousand people have been infected with Corona in the most affected country worldwide.
