Nepal Worried Over Conflict between the Two Countries

He urged India and China to exercise restraint and find a peaceful solution at the earliest.

For the first time after 45 years, someone has died on the disputed border of India and China. Last night (15/16 June) in the Galvan Valley of East Ladakh, 19 soldiers, including an Indian Army officer, were killed in a face-to-face clash between the army of China and India.

The Indian Army issued an official statement late Tuesday and said, "The army of India and China has retreated from Galwan region. On the night of 15/16 June, there was a clash between the soldiers of both countries. 17 Indian soldiers were seriously injured while on duty in the clash and deadlock area. These 17 soldiers seriously injured died in this area of temperature and extreme altitude below zero degrees. A total of 20 Indian soldiers have died here. The Indian Army is committed to protecting the integrity and sovereignty of the country.

Earlier, the Indian Army had said in its statement the death of a military officer and two soldiers. It was also said in the statement that senior military officials of both countries are talking to reduce tension.

Violent Clash over LAC, Three Brave Martyrs of India

Line of Actual Control

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi alleged that Indian soldiers crossed the border twice and illegally entered into the jurisdiction of China and attacked Chinese troops when stopped. During this, there was a clash between the soldiers of both sides. The Chinese Foreign Minister said that this would have a direct impact on the ongoing negotiations to reduce tensions.

Nonetheless, the Galwan River in eastern Ladakh is one of the sectors that have been in the news recently due to the deadlock between the forces of India and China. According to recent media reports, although the two forces are in their respective areas on line-of-actuarial control (LAC), the situation has not returned to normal.
