Digital Payments major Paytm app was removed from the Play Store on Friday, due to Paytm repeatedly violating Google's policy. In a blog post, Suzanne Frey, vice president, Product, Android, cites the privacy and security policy, stating that Google does not allow online casinos or endorse any unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting Provide.

Paytm gave information on micro-blogging site Twitter, saying, "Paytm Android app is temporarily unavailable on Google's Play Store for new downloads or updates. It will be back very soon."

One of India's most valuable startups, Paytm, competes with other digital payment comapnies like Google Pay and Phone Pay. Paytm had earlier said in September that revenue fell 40 per cent to Rs 3,629 crore in the financial year ended 31 March.
